Seven steps to your custom bag

Style of BagChoose from the stock bags above, from a kraft shopper to a laminated Eurotote.

Ink or Hot Stamp ColorPick from the ink and hot stamp charts on each bag; order inks by PMS number.

Sides PrintedFront only, or front and back. One or two colors; every combination is quoted.

Size and QuantityEach bag lists its sizes by name and case pack. The minimum order is 500 to 600 bags per size, in full cases.

Send LogoVector art with fonts outlined. We check it against the print area for each size; art prep is quoted if the file is not print ready.

Approve Artwork ProofYou see your artwork placed on a bag template before anything is made. Approve it and we cut the plate.

Production & DeliveryThe bags print and ship in 4 to 6 weeks. Reorders reuse the plate on file.

PRINT METHODS

Ink for exact color, foil for shine

Ink printed

ProcessFlexographic: ink is deposited onto the bag and absorbed into the paper surface
FinishTransparent, so it takes on the bag color. Expect darker on kraft and tinted bags; white, metallic and light inks go dull on them
DetailHandles complex artwork, thin lines and fine detail better than foil
ColorsStock inks with PMS references; see the chart on each bag. Custom matching on request
Lead timeShorter set-up, so the quicker of the two methods

Hot stamp foil

ProcessA heated metal die presses foil onto the surface of the bag
FinishGlossy and reflective, or satin and matte; a luxury feel
DetailMetallic foils hold thin lines and small text best. Matte foils press hotter and can fill in fine detail
ColorsMatte, metallic, satin and shimmer foils; see the chart on each bag
Lead timeLonger set-up; bags are stamped one at a time

Same logo, white bag and kraft bag

Ink is transparent. The same four inks print true on white paper and shift darker and warmer on kraft, because the paper shows through. Pick your ink from the chart with the bag color in mind, or send us the bag and the logo and we will proof it on that paper.

FAQ

Custom shopping bag questions

How many bags do I have to order?

500 to 600 bags per size, in full cases. Shoppers pack 250 or 200 to a case and most totes pack 100, so that is two to six cases for most sizes. The largest sizes pack 125 or 50. Each size is its own run.

Ink or hot stamp, which should I choose?

Ink gives you a Pantone color on natural or white kraft and holds fine detail. Foil gives you metallics and stays bright on dark, colored and laminated bags. Manhattan, Fashion Tint, Eurotote and black tint bags are foil only. Send the logo and the bag and we will recommend one.

Can I print two colors, or both sides?

Yes. Choose one or two colors on one or both sides; every combination is quoted with your order.

What if I need more than 1,500 bags, or print on the gussets?

That is the fully customized program: bags made to your size and paper, printed on all four sides in up to four color process in 18 to 22 weeks, or a USA made serrated edge bag in one to three colors from 6,000 per size in 6 to 8 weeks.
