Material and ShapePick a label stock and a shape. White gloss, kraft, a color or a metallic; a circle, an oval, a rectangle or a special die.

The print method decides what your artwork can do. Foil and ink want clean solid shapes and type; digital prints whatever you can draw or photograph.

  • BleedDie cut labels on rolls can print to the edge. Sheeted or butt cut labels cannot bleed, so keep art inside the edge on those.

FAQ

Custom label questions

How many labels do I have to order?

Every label type runs from 1,000 labels per design, whether hot stamp foil, ink, full color digital or a price label. Price labels come 1,000 to a roll, so the minimum is one roll. Larger quantities lower the cost per label, and every order is quoted with the material, shape and size you choose.

Hot stamp, ink or digital, which should I choose?

Hot stamp foil gives a metallic or matte finish pressed into the label, the look most jewelers and gift shops want on a dark or metallic stock. Ink printing gives exact brand colors, including PMS matches, on white or colored stock. Full color digital prints photos, gradients and any number of colors with no plates to buy. Send us the logo and we will recommend one.

What shapes and sizes are available?

Hundreds of stock dies from half an inch to six inches: circles, ovals, rectangles, squares and special shapes such as arches, scallops, seals and ticket notches. Digital labels print at any size up to 12⅜ x 22 in. If a stock die does not fit, a custom die can be quoted.

How long does it take, and can I reorder?

Production runs 4 to 5 weeks after you approve the artwork proof. Reorders use the same artwork, and copy, color or material changes between runs are available. Full color digital labels need no plates or dies at all. Need it sooner? Rush production in 5 or 7 business days is available on request; ask when you quote.

Will the labels hold up outdoors or on a jar?

Standard paper labels use a permanent adhesive and suit shelf goods, boxes, bags and packaging. For moisture and outdoor use, vinyl and mylar stocks with a gloss or matte lamination are available. Tell us where the label goes and we will match the material.

Can I get clear labels?

Yes. Clear acetate takes hot stamp foil or ink, and matte clear vinyl or gloss clear polyester film suit outdoor use when laminated. On a clear label the surface shows through around your print, so the logo appears to sit straight on the product. Tell us what it goes on and we proof it that way.
