HOW IT WORKS

Seven steps to your custom tape

Tape TypePressure sensitive poly for hand or gun dispensers, or reinforced water activated kraft for a sealed carton.

Tape Color and SizeClear or white poly in 2 in or 3 in, natural kraft or white reinforced in 3 in. Pick the roll length.

Ink ColorsOne, two or three colors from the 15 ink chart on each tape. Ask about a match to your own color.

QuantityPoly from 24 rolls, water activated from 8 rolls. Every roll in the order carries the same design; the breaks on each card lower the per roll cost.

Send LogoVector art with fonts outlined. Keep everything ⅛ in inside the tape edges, in solid colors with no tints or bleeds.

Approve Artwork ProofYou see the logo laid out on the 9 in repeat before anything prints. Sign it and the run is set.

Production and DeliveryThe tape prints and ships 4 to 6 weeks after artwork approval.

ARTWORK

Solid line art, a 9 inch repeat and an eighth of an inch of room

Tape prints from a repeating plate, so your logo appears again every 9 inches along the roll. Keep the art simple and solid and it prints crisp on every carton.

ColorsOne, two or three spot colors from 15 inks. A match to your own color on request. Fluorescent and metallic inks are not available.
RepeatArt is set to a 9 in repeat along the roll. Water activated tape can run a 6 in or 12 in repeat on request.
MarginKeep every element ⅛ in inside both edges of the tape.
Art styleSolid line art and text. Bleeds, tints and screens are not available, so gradients and photographs do not print.
FilesVector PDF, AI or EPS with fonts outlined. We check the file before we proof it.
CoreEvery roll comes on a 3 in core.

Same inks, three tape surfaces

Ink is printed onto the surface of the tape. On white poly and white reinforced tape your colors read true. On natural kraft the paper shows through, so inks read darker and warmer, and white ink stands out most. On clear poly the carton shows through around the print, so the logo appears to sit right on the box. Tell us the tape and the colors and we proof it that way.

Custom printed tape questions

How many rolls do I have to order?

Reinforced water activated tape runs from 8 rolls of 375 ft or 10 rolls of 450 ft. Pressure sensitive poly tape runs from 24 rolls of 3 in or 36 rolls of 2 in. Every roll in the order carries the same design, and the per roll cost drops at each quantity break shown on the cards.

Pressure sensitive or water activated, which should I choose?

Pressure sensitive poly sticks on contact from a hand or gun dispenser and comes clear or white, so it fits the way most shipping rooms already work. Water activated kraft is applied with a wetting dispenser and bonds into the carton, the choice for heavier cartons and a strong seal. Tell us how you seal today and we will match it.

How many colors can I print, and can you match my brand color?

One, two or three spot colors from the 15 ink chart. A match to your own color is available on request. Fluorescent and metallic inks, tints and bleeds are not available, so send solid line art and text.

How long does it take?

Production runs 4 to 6 weeks after you approve the artwork proof.

Do you sell dispensers and plain tape?

Yes. Clear shipping tape and definite length tape dispensers are in our Tape and Tape Dispensers department. Ask us about a water activated dispenser when you quote reinforced tape.
