When We Collect Sales Tax
The Packaging Source, Inc. collects sales tax in accordance with applicable state laws. We currently collect sales tax on orders shipping to North Carolina addresses, where we have a physical presence (nexus).
Tax-Exempt & Resale Customers
If your business is tax-exempt or purchases products for resale, we will not collect sales tax on your orders provided a valid exemption or resale certificate is on file at the time of purchase.
- Certificates must be submitted and approved before your order ships.
- Sales tax cannot be refunded retroactively once an order has been processed.
North Carolina purchasers can use the state’s Certificate of Exemption, Form E-595E. Our seller information is already filled in — complete your business details on your computer, sign, and return it to customerservice@packagingsource.com.

Your Responsibility in Other States
If we do not collect sales tax for your state, you may still be responsible for reporting and paying use tax on your purchase, in accordance with your state’s tax laws. This typically applies unless you reside in a state that does not impose sales tax (Alaska, Delaware, Montana, New Hampshire, or Oregon).
For more information, refer to your state’s Department of Revenue website.
